What is Virtual Notarization?

A document is notarized virtually with both parties (notary and signer's) being present via webcam.

The Process
For this service, you (the signer's) will need to email me (the notary) the document for which you need notarized. I will examine and determine if the document can be notarized, meaning that I need to ensure the document includes the proper terms and certificate required for notarization. Once I have confirmed this, you (the signer's) will then be emailed a link to join me (the notary) online, along with a separate email containing your invoice.  Once you receive the email to join, follow the steps in the email.  You will be asked to verify your identity by providing your ID and answering security questions that only you will know the answers to. You will then, enter the virtual room where you will see me via webcam along with the document. The signing of your document will be performed. Upon completion of the session, you will receive your notarized document to your email for immediate access. The following devices can be used: an iPad, a laptop, a computer, and a smartphone. Chrome is the preferred browser.  RON is provided using the MISMO approved platforms below.

What is I-Pen (In-person Electronic Notarization)?

I-Pen or In-person electronic notarization, is similar to RON, but instead of us meeting via webcam, we physically meet in-person, face-to-face. Your documents are then signed electronically and notarized using my IPad.

The Process
For this service, you (the signer) will need to email me (the notary) the document for which you need notarized. I will examine and determine if the document can be notarized, meaning that I need to ensure the document includes the proper terms and certificate required for notarization. Once I have confirmed this, you (the signer) will meet me (the notary) in person in a public space or with table and seating available or my office.  You will be assigned a pin number. This pin number will be used to electronically identify you as the person signing the document.  You will provide valid identification to me (the notary) to verify your identity. You will be prompted to pay your invoice for service prior.  Then the signing of your document will be performed. Upon completion, you will receive your notarized document to your email for immediate access. The following devices can be used: an iPad or a smartphone. Chrome is the preferred browser.
